GOING UP is the most-watched show on the planet. Every episode, bonded workers hoping to take money off they bond,  are sealed into modular units and dropped down a forty-metre broadcast tower.

You are the Builder, in the gantry booth. Your job is to land those units so the people inside can find a wall, find a ladder, and climb to one of four doors cut into the side.

Every door pays. The service door at the bottom is worth $5,000 against a worker's bond. The top door is worth $250,000. Same climb, fifty times the money.  

Complete a row wall to wall and the compactor takes it: the whole layer removed, everything above dropping into the new space. That is how you make room. It is also how you kill people.
